DAVID BOWIE ZIGGY STARDUST 1st UK PRESS 1E/1E
VERY RARE JUNE 1972 TOUR INSERT
THE RISE AND FALL OF
ZIGGY STARDUST
AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS
Here is an absolute earliest 1st pressing of Ziggy Stardust
As you would expect for a first pressing this has no mention of Mainman anywhere and 1E/1E matrix endings But this one also has the very earliest stampers A1F and A1I etched in the run out grooves and the ultra-rare insert advertising the UK tour to promote the album's release. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars was officially released in the UK on 6th June 1972 (not 16th as some websites state) and the insert promotes the tour that ran from 2nd June until 25th June. The insert is one of the earliest and rarest Ziggy collectors items
Please compare my details with the pictures shown
To tally and confirm for that which I`m sharing
The very same image is used for the cover picture seen on the 7" release Starman / Suffragette City
which was released April 1972 both tracks ON
The album Ziggy Stardust released a little later June 1972
Also detail from the rear of the sleeve shows no MAINMAN credits Combined with original first matrix detail and earliest A1 stampers codes
I have studied everything closely and with the aid from the pictures Hopefully you will notice all mentioned as we go along
The insert lays flat having no defined creases
Not torn or damaged
The original Robert Stace sleeve holds itself well
NO splits etc
Ring wear showing to the top and bottom of the sleeve
The spine edge is lightly pinched with light shelf wear to the bottom seam
Square corners no major creases a Clean Very Good
The lyric picture insert suffers no splits light creasing but no defined folding
A stain which can be seen to the lyric side
VG Very Good
So to the record NOT CLEANED
Visually I am happy to place This as being EXCELLENT
No marks at all which could cause concern for the play quality
Only light surface hair line marking to be seen from the inner sleeve
This is all seen from using a strong LED light
The GLOSS CENTRE LABELS shine with no centre spindle tails
Having played the album the quality is very clear and rewarding
And links to the visual condition as being EX Excellent
A lovely play quality
There is NO groove wear (background) noise to cause concern
Play is not completely faultless some inherent characteristic
Vinyl Tick Click Moments
A professional cleaning would be a recommendation
I am critical for the play quality
