The Beatles - ‘The Acoustic White Album’ CD

The Beatles 'The Acoustic White Album’ bootleg CD. A wonderfully detailed and comprehensive package featuring acoustic demo’s of songs which mainly ended up on the Beatles White Album.

These tracks were written during the Beatles trip to India in early 1968. On their return to England towards the end of May the Beatles met at Kinfauns, George Harrison’s house in Esher, Surrey. There they recorded demo versions of a number of songs which later formed the White Album. This session also produced a number of other tracks which failed to make it onto the White Album. These remain unreleased as Beatles tracks - ‘Junk’, ‘Child Of Nature’, ‘What’s The New Mary Jane?’, ‘Circles’, ‘Sour Milk Sea’ and ‘Not Guilty’.

This CD also features four bonus acoustic White Album related tracks. ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ and ‘Can You Take Me Back’ are both studio demo’s recorded during the ‘I Will’ White Album session on 16th September 1968. These two tracks by Paul show just what top form he was on here, able to almost spontaneously perform these. Both these tracks again remain unreleased. Also included is the magnificent take 9 of ‘Hey Jude’, and a rather candid un politically correct interview with Paul McCartney and Jane Asher discussing the trip to India.

A few of my personal highlights here are certainly the two unreleased Paul tracks from the ‘I Will’ sessions, ‘Rocky Raccoon’ (a slower and shorter version with beautiful harmonies), ‘Back In The USSR’ (maybe my favourite, great to hear this before it became the rock ’n’ roll opener to the White Album), ‘What's The New Mary Jane?’ (an acoustic version of this psych madness) and ‘Sour Milk Sea’ (this SHOULD have been included on the White Album, just my opinion)!

The package here is designed to look like an Apple acetate issue of what is essentially an unreleased Beatles album.

The package includes:

• Accurate reproduction Apple acetate CD label design.

• 'Fresh From Apple' booklet charting the history of these tracks.

• Back cover with track listing, composer credits and track timing.
