Jackie Day - Before it's too late/Without a love
Jacquelene Edwards. In 1960 she married Big Jay McNeely, who was already a long-time R&B sax legend. She came to recording a bit late in life, cutting a trio of singles for Modern Records in 1966 while she was in her late 20s.
Her recording of "Before It's Too Late" on Modern was issued by Sue in the UK, and secured her a following in the Northern Soul scene. Here’s the US original plus the flip “Without A Love.”
