Hard to find this clean ... Scarce original 1971 first press in colorful gatefold cover ...
The original co-creators of King Crimson unite... can it be as good as the 1969 monster they had created? Not quite, but comes close and not far from it !
This album even sounds a little like King Crimsons' first two album, but it has a different approach : one that is more in popsike blends meets progressive rock and the main 2 tracks are 11 and 21 minutes long. This album is a mix between In The Court Of The Crimson King and The Beatles (White Album era), quite a unique combination that was never reproduced. The sound, is of course, great, even many years later! The King Crimson stylings comes from the quite large variety of instruments used (quite effectively too) and the dreamy progressive passages. The Beatles sound comes from their lilting harmony styles & production craftings, parts in musical play but mainly from the voices; very reminescent of that precise Beatles sound....so it's quite a mixture here...there are psych effects & heavenly atmosphereics along the way...certainly a 'heady' dose of goods for the unsuspecting listener...then the real joy is the fact that it grows with each successive play!
