This boxed set Humperdinck Hansel and Gretel Opera from 1947 was the first complete recording in English by the Metropolitan Opera, starring Risë Stevens and Nadine Conner in the title roles.

It was issued as this 78-RPM multi-record set by Columbia Masterworks Records and never appeared on CD.

The actual records are in like new condition and appear to have been played only sparingly.

The outer box has wear and tape repair.  Front of both sleeves have wear from being slid in and out of the box.  Inside sleeve for the first disc has the original owner's name and purchase price written on it.

The paper program includes cast photos and biographies, the plot and brief, and a complete translation of the libretto written by Humperdinck's sister, Adelheid Wette. The program also contains an interior photo of the Metropolitan Opera house and of the stage scene of angels with trumpets.  There are two copies as shown in the photos.  Both appear to have never been read.
This is a 12 disc set.  Five discs in one binder, seven discs in the other.
