18th listings info
Our eighteenth series of auctioning records continues to center on classic R&B, mostly from the late 50s through the 70s. In addition, we are now offering a variety of Jazz especially from the 1950s and ‘60s on classic labels (Riverside, Blue Note, Prestige, Clef, etc.), vinyl housed in covers that range from stylishly cheesy to frankly provocative containing a wide spectrum of music genres (jazz, R&R, soul, classical, island, etc.) and spoken word, predominantly comedy, and finally albums of unusual distinction that are unique or interesting (psychedelic, mood-associated, inspirational, cover art-associated (Steinweiss, Warhol, Dali, etc). We also continue to offer American Rock & Roll, Foreign (primarily British) R&R, collector’s Soundtracks, and some Blues with additional Autographed Albums included within these genres. Our albums are often difficult to find as we have continued to discover over the past 45 or so years. The beginning bid prices are based on their rarity. Many autographed items were signed in person and obtained from individuals who stated as such. Some come with COA. One week post shipping, you will have 30 day guarantee period to pass JSA & PSA/DNA authentication. For those signed articles that do not pass authentication, upon return of the signed article your money plus shipping cost will be returned to you.
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY: Ebay has 2 CATEGORIES for listing records: New and USED. The records that we list are USED. They still may be sealed or unopened in which case we refer to those as being mint (M) or still sealed (SS). A grade of "MINT" is the closest a used record will be to new. The further the grade deviates from Mint, the less it will look (and sound) like a new record, and the more WEAR it will have.
* PLEASE KEEP IN MIND GRADING OF RECORDS ARE IN ESSENSE A SUBJECTIVE "BEST ASSESSMENT".
* ALL ITEMS ARE CONSIDERED USED, VINTAGE UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
* THE HISTORY, PRIOR USE, CARE, CLEANING, AND SO ON BY PREVIOUS OWNER(S) ARE FOR THE MOST PART UNKNOWN UNLESS THEY CAME FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION IN WHICH CASE THAT WOULD BE STATED.
* ALL ITEMS ARE USUALLY DESCRIBED VISUALLY ONLY BY GOLDMINE STANDARDS (AS OUTLINED BELOW) - NOT PLAYED BY US UNLESS NOTED IN THE DESCRIPTION. IN MOST INSTANCES WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATION OF SOUND QUALITY.
* SINCE ANY USED ITEM MAY BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE, IT MAY HAVE SKIPS, STICKING, POPS, CLICKS, STATIC, MINOR SURFACE UNEVENNESS.
* PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: AUDIBLE DEFECTS TO VINYL MAY OR MAY NOT BE VISIBLE.
* IN THE END, USED RECORDS, DUE TO THE UNKNOWN HISTORY OF PAST USE, ARE SOLD HERE PRIMARILY AS COLLECTIBLES.
We grade our records
conservatively, by visual inspection unless stated otherwise, largely following
the traditional Goldmine standards.
SS = still sealed
NM = near mint (including
unplayed) condition. Cover is crisp and new looking with no ring
wear.
EX = excellent, vinyl has only
slight signs of wear; overall very clean (with excellent gloss), only light
surface marks (hairline seen under strong light) which will not distract
significantly from the sound. Cover has only slight wear, and is still in
excellent collectible condition. Ex grade is the equivalent to NM- (near mint minus),
or by some as VG++ (very good plus plus)
VG+ = very good plus, vinyl was
most likely played often but handled with reasonable care resulting in moderate
surface wear and possibly some moderate noise but still strong gloss and plays
very well. Cover may have gentle overall wear (especially along edges and
corners) or some ring wear.
VG = very good, vinyl with
overall wear, but no skips or serious defects, typically having more noisy
sound during quiet passages. Cover may be well worn, usually with considerable
ring wear, edges may be split but clear taped, may have writing (previous
owner’s name).
VG- = very good minus, vinyl has
considerable wear and often with
considerable scratches but no skips. It may play well, it may play to complete
distraction Cover may have marked ring
wear, split edges, tape marks, writing, etc. Only very scarce records are sold
by us in this category or the categories below VG-.
G or G+ = Poor or Rough
condition (frisbee material). No guarantee on these records. Collectors only!
