PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. 1975 FINAL COLLECTION COPY!

Original 1975 first pressing ... This 1975 release features the chameleon like Bowie, exploring Philadelphia soul-rock grooves. The #1 US  hit "FAME" features John Lennon on vocals and guitar

Begun on 11 August 1974, during breaks in Bowie’s Diamond Dogs tour, Young Americans was recorded by the legendary  Tony Visconti primarily in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was agreed early on to record as much of the album as possible live, with the full band playing together, including Bowie’s vocals, as a single continuous take for each song. According to Visconti, the album contains “… about 85% ‘live’ David Bowie.”   In order to create a more authentically soulful sound, Bowie brought in musicians from the funk and soul community, including an early-career Luther Vandross and Andy Newmark, drummer of Sly and the Family Stone. “Across the Universe” and “Fame” were recorded at Electric Lady Studios with John Lennon. Bowie considered several different titles for the album, including "Somebody Up There Likes Me," "One Damned Song," "The Gouster" and "Fascination."   In the UK, "Young Americans" title track was released as a single in 1975 and made number 18 (in the US it made number 28).   "Fame" became the 2nd single featuring "Right" on the b-side - this time reaching number 17 (with Bowie scoring his first US number 1).   Fans believe that "Young Americans" marks the defining line where Bowie said goodbye to his Glam Rock creations of "Ziggy" and "Aladdin Sane" and goodbye to his theatrical staging/concepts such as Diamond Dogs; and took a giant leap into musical exploration that was to provide the eventual avenue to Brian Eno and the Berlin Trilogy LPs. Certainly "Young Americans" and the follow-up "Station To Station" are two LPs that capture the 'Live' studio Bowie at work. Certainly very evident on "Young Americans". Despite the later admission by Bowie that he was a cocaine addict in 1974, this in no way diminishes the superlative "Young Americans" and the intensity of the recordings so evident.   The "Young Americans" sessions were produced by Bowie's dear friend and long term musician colleague, Tony Visconti.   "Young Americans" – 5:10 "Win" – 4:44 "Fascination"  – 5:43 "Right" – 4:13 Side two "Somebody Up There Likes Me" – 6:30 "" (John Lennon, Paul McCartney) – 4:30 "Can You Hear Me" – 5:04 "Fame"  – 4:12
