This is a complete set of Blue Note 12” 78s, #1 through #48. The recordings include Blue Note’s first session on January 4, 1939 and conclude in 1945. Every record has a blue and white Lexington Avenue label. Since they were all recorded prior to the involvement of Rudy Van Gelder or Plastylite, the run-off shows only the matrix number. The playing surfaces show little or no wear and appear to have been played, perhaps once or twice; conservative grading would generally vary from E to N-; some of the surfaces have a very high luster, while others have possibly been dulled by 75+ years of storage. The only exception is on #25 (James P. Johnson), Side A, that has a small lamination break on the rim that creates two tics into the music. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL.
