Rare historical 12-inch shellac record: THE RIGHTS OF LABOR, An Opinion Spoken by WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT (1907) with an Introduction by OHIO SENATOR ROBERT A TAFT (1939); The National Vocarium, TNV 100A (CS 037735); the back is unrecorded but has a large printed label on it giving an overview on the content; released in 1939. Robert was WH's son. Extremely rare - I can't find any others available online to compare it to, nor any mentioned in completed-auction listings.

Condition is NM (very nice sheen, this actually looks unplayed; the only flaw is some paste or glue smudges to the label).

MORE TO COME - I've listed and will be listing many other rare 10" and 12" shellac records over the next month or two, mainly historical events, sports, personalities, politicians, speeches, military, WWI, WWII, presidential & campaign, kings & queens, etc.
A NOTE ON SHIPPING SHELLAC RECORDS: I use the floating method, with the record sandwiched between strong pieces of cardboard with corrugate in opposite directions, then placed inside a larger sturdy box with packing material all around inside to prevent any movement (either peanuts, large-bubble wrap, or crumpled paper). Sometimes if I have old 10" LP jackets I don't need, I will put your record in it before sandwiching; otherwise will be in a paper sleeve. I will also always insure these with the USPS. Due to the extra time, materials, insurance, and overall high level of stress associated with shipping these safely (YOU know!), I am asking $6.00 for Media Mail shipping ($4 is actual shipping cost). I think it is reasonable, and I get the feeling that most collectors who buy these online are happy to pay a little extra for the added assurance.
