LAST ONE

 Sabu Martinez was one of the greatest Latin percussionist of all times. He was a naturally multi-talented musician who reigned as king of the Cubop beat in the late sixties and early seventies.

These albums, originally released by the famous SMC label in 1960, are loaded with solid descargas / boogaloo with Afro Cuban and Latin jazz rhythms. Check out great tracks like “High Tension” and “In Orbit”. The side men on this session are an all-star band.

Lazarus Audio Products designed the cover for the reissue, the original individual LPs were shipped on the standard SMC cover (see image of original single LP from 1960). The 1997 reissue was done as a double-LP. The liner notes by Ache editor, Marcos Canihuante, are worth the price of the reissue.
