These were found at the estate of Congressman Patrick J. Hillings: "Patrick Jerome Hillings (February 19, 1923 – July 20, 1994) was a Republican U.S. Representative from California who succeeded Richard M. Nixon in Congress. He was initially elected to California's 12th congressional district, which was renumbered as California's 25th congressional district prior to the 1952 election." These were delivered perhaps to a relative, if not the Congressman himself, with the name, "Mr. Joe Hillings (c/o Mrs. E.S. Hillings)" from one address in California to the Hillings address in California. No date can be seen on the stamp. I am guessing this was from the 1950s, maybe earlier as 33 1/3 records were first produced in 1948. The label on this record curiously notes to start at "Out", which I assume means the outer lead-in
The four privately produced records were titled, "Youth Takes the Stand", and the sides are labelled Sides 1 through 4. They were recorded at the "Joint Senate and House Recording Facility" and published by the Government Printing Office, with the identifier GPO 98227 (which wasn't useful when I tried to search for this using that number...you may have better luck). They are in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with a few light scuffs or scratches on clean, largely unplayed vinyl. They were sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard in the mailer and will be conveyed in a cardboard record mailer with further padding.
