One of a kind Super Rare! 4 LP Limited set from Alco on Red Vinyl Autographed by Arnold Schoenberg to Leonard Stein. Stein was Schoenberg's assistant, music director of the Schoenberg Institute at USC, and among the foremost authorities on Schoenberg's music. He was also a huge champion of 20th century classical music. Amazingly all 4 Alco Deep Groove records are Signed and dated. I acquired this set from his estate in 2005 after his passing in 2004. They are authentic without a doubt. All vinyl has been well taken care of with only limited marks. Nothing bad as far as scratches. There are marks from sleeve storage and one LP has a little speck of something in the vinyl. Very few spindle marks. These quartets were recorded in 1937 and transferred and released on Alco on Red Vinyl in 1950 so there is some surface noise and ticks. Rare abstract art work by Jules Engel. The Sleeves have a lot of wear and some of the seams are split, wear on corners and dings (see all photos). Only writing is a LS on the back top right of each LP. Initials put there by Arnold Schoenberg or Leonard him self. Record #2 is the only one of the 4 that has notes on the back. The others have a blank slick and appear to be advance copies. Paper inner sleeves are pretty beat up but I wanted to keep everything original. Vinyl is very clean but I didn't want to clean them on a machine in fear of what the solution might do to the 70 year old vinyl. I'll leave that up to you. Some wear, but so rare. A lot of history behind this set. Absolutely one of a kind for sure. Please feel free to ask any questions.
Note to international buyers: Due to the fact that this value exceeds the restrictions for first class international and the weight is 4 lbs. or more, the package will need to be sent Priority Mail International, so the shipping will be $75.00. Sorry.
