12 RARE, two-sided, shellac opera and oratorio (Handel's Messiah) 78s from the early 1900s (1910s to 1930s?) on various RCA labels, in an antique hardcover album with 12 "pages" of inner sleeves.  See below for details on each one.  NOTE:  The two "D.B." numbered records are 81 or 82 rpm!

-SHELLAC CONDITION (PLAY TESTED): 
-All are scuffed, need cleaning and aren't perfectly flat.  One, #11-8807, is mildly warped, but there's no effect on playback.  #C.3129 is quite flat.  Some sides have light scratches, but all played through with no skipping.  A few have small numbered stamps on the labels. 
-All have surface noise.  Two seem extra hissy (35176, 55015), but hard to tell with my cheap rig (see below).
-NOTE:  My regular rig didn't have a 78 speed, so I had to use a cheap old record player to test these.  That player makes even a brand new audiophile record sound terribly tinny and hissy, so I can't determine the extent of the fidelity and surface noise, but again, all of these records played through without skipping or jumping a groove.  No doubt the sound would improve with a proper cleaning (I just dusted them to play).

Since I don't have a good player to listen with, but they play through without skipping, it is hard to grade, so I have used the vague "good to very good" grade.  Who knows, with a proper cleaning and appropriate playback equipment, some might be very good plus.
