PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. THE GROUNDHOGS

SCRATCHING  THE  SURFACE

RARE ! TOP FINAL COLLECTION COPY
Original BRITISH 1968 first pressing

Fully laminated cover of the very first GROUNDHOGS...
LOOKS and PLAYS MINTY CLEAN!

The Groundhogs' Scratching The Surface is indeed a classic UK blues boom gem... the mix of laid back and electrified classic blues through which the band pursues its nine tracks offer the unsuspecting listener to a direct blast from the peak of the British blues boom past. Early (Peter Green) Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack, and Savoy Brown all haunted precisely the same corridors as Scratching the Surface, with bursts of fuzzed Tony McPhee guitar to distinguish the sonics from the rest of the pack. Scratching the Surface ranks among the finest albums to emerge out of that entire period, a moody shuffle that includes an epic recounting of the Chicago classic "Still a Fool" and which matches five solid McPhee originals with a pair of blistering contributions from outgoing harmonica whiz Steve Rye. In fact, his "Early in the Morning" and "You Don't Love Me" might well be the album's best numbers. If you want to hear electrified UK blues via the Southern England Delta, there are precious few better introductions.

Rocking Chair
Early in the Morning
Walking Blues
Married Men
No More Doggin'
Man Trouble
Come Back Baby
You Don't Love Me
Still a Fool

               CONDITION:
The cover: rated: clean VG++  Very fragile UK fully laminated in strong shape after 52 years besides handling crinkles in lamination which is normal for 50 year old European & British covers at this point. Otherwise is very clean with sharp colors and great appearance as photos show. This was a very early USA import market item, so has a rare custom sticker that was used for "sealing" the item, when cellophane/shrink wrap is not used in the UK / Europe. Really hard to find even THIS clean - a strong collection copy, don't miss if interested!  ...no split seams, or alarming problems as you see.
The vinyl: Rated: Both sides are highly glossy and clean M- plays mint/fine  and enjoyably clean start to finish... both World Pacific labels are clean
