Tom Petty released his debut solo album "Full Moon Fever" in April 1989 on MCA Records. A total of five singles were released off the album including "I Won't Back Down" and "Runnin' Down A Dream." Although officially a solo album, all of the Heartbreakers played on parts of it except except for drummer Stan Lynch who was replaced by Jim Keltner. Special guests included fellow Traveling Wilburys George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison.
This rare promo copy (MCA-6253) is from the first pressing and is in near mint condition including the original lyrics inner sleeve. Please see the pictures. The album plays cleanly and I rate it VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. The dead wax is stamped on Side One with MCA-8770-FDS-3 and is hand etched with the words Future Disc.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 31 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
