Rod Stewart released his fourth solo album "Never A Dull Moment" in July 1972. The single "You Wear It Well" was a huge worldwide hit, and along with the cover version of Sam Cooke's "Twistin' The Night Away," helped propel the album to the top of the charts.
This copy (SRM-1-646) is from the first pressing and is in exceptional condition considering it is nearly 50-years-old . The original textured cover features a very unusual triple gatefold design where the disc is top-loaded in the sleeve. It's in virtually mint condition with no ring wear or markings and only the slightest edge wear so I rate it as easily VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Gilbert Kong at Masterdisk in NYC and was pressed at the Philips Recording Co. plant in Richmond, Indiana. The dead wax on Side 1 is stamped SRM-1-646A-M11 and etched G.K.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
