This is a rare copy of The Beatles album "Yesterday And Today" as it was originally recorded in glorious Mono in 1966. Although a rejigged Stereo version was also released, many fans prefer the original mono tracks.
This copy (T 2553) is from the first pressing at the Capitol Records Scranton, Penn., plant and is in surprisingly good condition for a 54-year-old record. The original "butcher baby" album covers were recalled before release but thousands were already in the distribution pipeline. This revised final album cover is intact but does show some edge and ring wear and has initials written on the front but I still rate it VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and has a name written on the Side 2 label but is also VG+ which is as high as I rate vintage vinyl. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched T-1-2553-G-22 and Matrix Runout on the Side 1 label is T-X-1-2553.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
