Eric Clapton released the double LP compilation album "History Of Eric Clapton" on Atco Records in March 1972. It is an excellent 16 track sampling of Eric's performances with Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominoes, John Mayall, The Yardbirds, and Delaney & Bonnie. It was the first compilation for one rock artist that included material from multiple groups and record labels.
This copy (SD 2-803) is in excellent condition and is from the first pressing. The gatefold cover has some slight ring and edge wear but is VG+. Both of the discs test played cleanly and are also VG+ which is as high as I rate vintage vinyl. The discs are auto coupled which means Disc 1 contains Sides 1 and 3 and Disc 2 has sides 2 and 4. The dead wax on Side A is etched ST-C-722479-AAA-1 AT/GP PR. It was mastered by Georg Piro and is a record club pressing by PRC in Richmond, Indiana.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with two high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeves to hold the vinyl discs and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
