Bob Seger released his tenth studio album "Stranger In Town" in May 1978 on Capitol Records. It was his second album with The Silver Bullet Band and was a huge success with four hit singles in "Hollywood Nights," "Still The Same," "We've Got Tonite," and "Old Time Rock & Roll."
This promo copy (SW-11698) has a hole punched in the cover which also has some clear tape on the top and bottom seams to hold it together. I rate the cover VG, but the printed inner sleeve with credits on one side and lyrics on the other is in very good shape, as is the 12" x 12" 4-page color photos insert. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and I rate it VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles and is stamped with ✲ Mastered By Capitol and etched with Wally (Traugott). The dead wax on Side 1 is etched SW-1-11698 F-5.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 42 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
