John Lennon and a quickly assembled Plastic Ono Band were recorded live at the Toronto Rock And Roll Revival Festival on September 13, 1969. With very little notice, Lennon agreed to do the show and recruited Eric Clapton, base player Klaus Voormann and drummer Alan White to back him and Yoko for an 8 song set that included "Give Peace A Chance" and the first ever performance of "Cold Turkey." The disc labels incorrectly state the record was "Recorded In England" and it was the first live album issued by any of The Beatles.
This copy (SW-3362) is from the first pressing and is in very good condition for a record that is over 50-years-old. The cover does show some ring and edge wear but I still grade it VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Capitol and pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Winchester, Virginia. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched SW [scratchedST] 1-3362-Z-4 ─◁.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 51 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
