Kraftwerk is a German band formed in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Widely considered as innovators and pioneers of electronic music, they were among the first successful acts to popularize the genre. The group began as part of West Germany's experimental krautrock scene in the early 1970s before fully embracing electronic instrumentation, including synthesizers, drum machines, and vocoders

On commercially successful albums such as 'Autobahn' (1974), 'Trans-Europe Express' (1977), 'The Man-Machine' (1978), and 'Computer World' (1981), Kraftwerk developed a self-described experimental "robot pop" style that combined electronic music with pop melodies, sparse arrangements, and repetitive rhythms, while adopting a stylized image including matching suits. The band's work has influenced a diverse range of artists and many genres of modern music, including synth-pop, hip hop, post-punk, techno, ambient and club music

'Aerodynamik' was originally released by Kraftwerk in 2004. It was the fourth single to be taken from 'Tour de France Soundtracks', the band's tenth studio album, recorded to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the iconic French bicycle race. It reached #33 in the UK singles chart and also topped the UK dance chart.

Three years later, the track was given the remix treatment by members of the acclaimed UK electronic/dance outfit Hot Chip. The title track is remixed by Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, while flipside 'La Forme', also from the album, has been reworked by Al Doyle and Felix Martin. The single charted at #78 in the UK, as well as in Germany (#79), Denmark (#13) and Spain (#2).
