The Beatles released their "Red" double disc compilation album "1962-1966" in April 1973 on Apple Records. It contains 26 tracks filled with hits and went straight to the top of the charts. The release was accompanied by the simultaneous, but separate, "Blue" double disc compilation album "1967-1970."
This copy of (SKBO-3403) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover is intact with only minor ring and edge wear and is easily VG+. Please see the pictures. Both discs (with the original "whole and sliced apples" on the labels) test played cleanly and are also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. The two inner lyric sleeves are pristine as is the discography insert sheet. It was mastered by Lee Hulko at Sterling Sound in NYC and was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched SKBO-1-3403 Z3•• and stamped 2 ✲ STERLING LH 2.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with two high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeves to hold the vinyl discs and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
