Carole King released her second studio album "Tapestry" in February 1971 on the A&M Records imprint Ode Records. It is one of the best selling albums of all time and spent five weeks at No. 1 on the charts on the way to winning a Grammy for Best Album. Hit singles from the album include "It's Too Late," "I Feel The Earth Move," "So Far Away," and "You've Got A Friend."
This copy of (SP 77009) is from the First Pressing over 50-years-ago and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover still has most of its original Factory Shrink Wrap attached and is easily VG+. Please see the pictures, but note the photo of the interior gatefold is from another copy. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was produced by Lou Adler and mastered by Vic Anesini for Ode Records in Los Angeles. This copy was pressed by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched ODE 77017-M2 (MR) Δ15732 (3) except the Monarch logo (MR) which is stamped.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 50 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
