Van Halen released their fifth studio album "Diver Down" in April 1982 on Warner Bros. Records. It was a huge success rising to No. 3 and was on the charts for an amazing 65 weeks. The band included five cover versions of songs with the remake of Roy Orbison's "(Oh) Pretty Woman" hitting No. 1. The photo on the back cover is from an October 24, 1981 show at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, Florida where the band opened for the Rolling Stones.
This is a rare Promo copy of (BSK 3677) with gold foil stamping that is in excellent condition. The cover still has its gloss and is in near-mint condition as is the original photo inner sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc with the original lined labels test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was produced by Ted Templeman and engineered by Don Landee and Ken Deane. This copy was pressed for Warner Bros. at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched BSK-3677 LW2*.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 39 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
