The Cars released their self-titled debut album "The Cars" in June 1978 on Elektra Records. It sold over 6 million copies in the U.S. making the Top 20 during its 139 weeks on the charts with three hit singles "My Best Friend's Girl," "Just What I Needed," and "Good Times Roll."
This copy of (6E-135) is from the First Pressing and is in exceptional condition. The cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap largely attached and is in Near-Mint condition. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound in NYC and this copy was pressed by PRC Recording Co. in Compton, Calif. The Side One dead wax is etched 6E-135-A4-PRCW-1 RTB and a stamped STERLING.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 43 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
