Three Dog Night released their third album "Captured Live At The Forum" in October 1969 on Dunhill / ABC Records. It was a surprisingly huge hit and reached No. 6 on the album charts and includes most of their best know songs like "Eli's Coming" and "One." The cover on this first pressing lists September 12,1969 as the date of the show when it was actually recorded on July 14, 1969 and was corrected on later pressings. The band was touring in support of Steppenwolf and this show was only recorded on a whim because the equipment was already there to record the headliner.
This copy of (DS 50068) is from the First Pressing and is in very good condition for a record that is now well over 50-years-old. The gatefold cover is solid with some edge wear and initials on the inside but is still VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc Test Plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Terra Haute, Indiana and the Side One dead wax is etched T \ DS 50068-A-1C D8.
In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 52 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
