Deep Purple released their debut album "Shades Of Deep Purple" in July 1968 on Tetragrammaton Records. Although it initially sold poorly in the U.K. where it was issued with a different cover on Parlophone Records, it was very well received in the U.S. where it reached No. 24 on the charts thanks to the hit single "Hush."
This copy of (NO. T-102) is from the First Pressing and is in very good condition, especially considering it is more than 53-years-old. The cover seams are solid but does show some wear and is VG. Please see the pictures. The disc Test Plays cleanly and is VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Lance Landon at DCT Recorders in Hollywood and this copy was pressed by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched 7707 D-6 (MR) △12105 LL-DCT except the Monarch (MR) logo which is stamped.
This album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.  It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 53 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
