half speed master... the audiophile lp. 1st used in the 50s and 60s and adopted by Mobile Fidelity in 1977. followed in the early 80s by other labels... possibly in response to the introduction of the commercial cd. but the growth of the cd wasn't so much quality as it was convenience... small, take them anywhere... this is the REO album that brought them solidly into pop rock... keep on loving you, take it on the run, don't let him go...
