George Harrison's concert event held on the afternoon and evening of August 1, 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York, to raise international awareness of, and fund relief for refugees from East Pakistan, following the Bangladesh Liberation War-related genocide. The event was the first-ever benefit of such a magnitude, and featured a supergroup of performers that included Harrison, fellow ex-Beatle Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and the band Badfinger. In addition, Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan – both of whom had ancestral roots in Bangladesh – performed an opening set of Indian classical music.

This is a UK pressing (Made in England on labels at bottom) and all records were play-tested NEAR MINT. *While the U.S. version was released on 20 December 1971, the British version was released on January 10, 1972. The box has some damage as you can see, and we can only rate that FAIR. Still, a nice bargain for anyone looking for a British pressing of this album.
