The Beatles - The Original Greatest Hits issued by Greatest Hits Records - GRC-1001 in 1964.
I've searched all over the Internet and cannot seem to find this record anywhere - there are two appearances recorded in the Internet afetr a Google search - both from a few years ago, and relatively decent prices, but that's it! There are literally hundreds of other records of all othe Beatle albums. I have owned it since it was bought in Brooklyn in 1964. Somewhere I read that this was the first American Beatles bootleg.
The record cover is gold with four mop-top hairdos on the front in the shape of the Fab 4's hairstyles - but the word "Beatles" does not appear anywhere n the record.
See the list of songs on the back, and note that there's no mention of the Beatles anywhere -- all the recordings are actual Beatles recordings.  A local record guru in Virginia told me that this album includes the original recording of "Love Me Do", which was copied/dubbed from from a Canadian 45 -- and he notes that this particular version of the song wasn't issued in the U.S. until 1980.
I don't know anything about record collectibles, but since I cannot find any references in the internet, I'm gonna start it at a decent price and hope for the best!
I've taken good images of this LP so that you can see all the issues, which include writing, tape, etc., as this LP was played for many years! It has been in storage since 1975, but it is far from mint or any other such state.
