James Taylor released his first compilation album "James Taylor's Greatest Hits" in November 1976 on Warner Bros. Records. It has sold more than 11 million copies and includes nearly all his best known songs including "Sweet Baby James," "Carolina On My Mind," "Fire And Rain," "Mexico," "You've Got A Friend," and "Shower The People." Special guests include Joni Mitchell, Graham Nash, Carole King, Carly Simon, David Crosby and Andrew Gold.
This copy of (BS 2979) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover is solid but shows some minor ring wear and is VG+ as is the Inner Picture Sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc Test Plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Bernie Grundman at A&M Studios and this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched BS-1-2979 LW3• 2 ✲ A.
