Absolutely lovely copy of the very first ever album by the Andrews Sisters, their 1946 self-titled 5 78rpm album set on Decca A-458. Features their first big hit, Bei Mir Bist Dü Schoen from 1936, and newer songs like the rare Beat Me Daddy, a disc that is often missing from this set. The first four discs are in excellent condition and play simply beautifully. There are some very light scuffs and minor surface marks on a couple of them, but barely at all. Purely superficial with no affect on the play. The fifth disc, Beer Barrel Polka b/w Pennsylvania Polka, was clearly played a lot and has a bit of wear. Visually it is about VG but it still plays beautifully with no groove distortion and only minor noise. Still very nice. This is truly a beautiful sounding set. The cover also is in exceptional condition, with only light shelfwear evident. Some edge and corner wear at the lower right, and minor scuffing and such but the spine is perfectly intact and the binding strong. See photos. It is really a beautiful looking and sounding copy, and quite rare to find in this condition, complete with no serious issues.
The discs include:
Bei Mir Bist Dü Schoen / Joseph! Joseph!
Hold Tight, Hold Tight / Well All Right!
Beat Me Daddy, Eight to the Bar / Scrub Me Mama with a Boogie Beat (rare and wonderful)
In Apple Blossom Time / Rhumboogie
Beer Barrel Polka / Pennsylvania Polka
