4 ULTRA RARE PRIVATELY PRODUCED RECORDS OF MUSIC PERFORMED BY STAPLES HIGH SCHOOL CHORAL ORGANIZATIONS.
They were all found in plain white jackets, no markings, light age-toning, only one split which was found in a jacket in which the record was stored without an inner sleeve. All other LPs found stored in original inner rice paper inner sleeves. They were deep groove recordings. Overall, the vinyl looked good with light scratches over generally clean vinyl. On close inspection, hwever, there were a few spots with feelable scratches or scuff marks - these will be discussed below. So the needle may need to be moved over these spaces. Without them, I would grade all generally in the VG+ to VG++ range; with the two areas, I'll provide an overall grade ranging from VG to VG+. WIth more specific detail, the LPs are:
Christmas Candlelight Concert, K8OP-1411, performed Dec 20, 1958. LP found without inner sleeve in jacket with bottom edge split of about 3" center. This LP with a lead-in feelable scuff mark. It was on the first cut on Side 1. Otherwise, the vinyl has light visible unfeelable scratches, would grade VG+ without this lead-in scuff.
Combined Concert by the Chorus, Orchestra, and Glee Club K8OP-7459, performed Mar 23, 1959. Again, clean vinyl but there is a feelable scratch on the first cut of Side 1 and also a small slightly feelable scuff area on the same cut on Side 1. Side 2 is a strong VG+ with nothing feelable.
Christmas Candlelight Concert presented by the Choir, Chorus, Glee Clubs, Orchestra and Brass Ensemble. L8OP-0198, performed Dec 19, 1959. Nothing feelable either side, some light scratches, a strong VG+.
Spring Concert by the A Cappella Choir and Sophomore Girls Glee Club on Side 1, and Spring Concert by The Choir Hawaiian Selections on Side II, K8OP-4418, performed Mar 21, 1959. Generally clean with light scratches, with a feelable scuff mark near the lead-in on Side 1, and a much less feelable (essentially unfeelable) scuff mark near the lead-in on Side 2.
