This listing is for a Lot Of Two items by The Louvin Brothers

- The first item is an original United States Mono 1959 First Pressing of their legendary vinyl LP Satan Is Real, on the Capitol record label with catalog number T-1277.  This one's about as nice as you'll find and may be the upgrade you've been waiting for.  This LP has been reissued before, but there's nothing that can compare to owning a beautiful original copy.

The LP is quite a sight to behold, as it is clean and retains most of its original glossy luster and looks like it's had very few plays over the years.  Even a close look reveals nothing about the vinyl that would lower its grade below NM.  Both record labels are nicely preserved as well and have vivid colors, with the Side 1 label showing just a bit of spindle marking.  The original Capitol record label company inner sleeve is also present.

The cover is still intact with no seam splitting, just a small chip in the paper covering the top seam and one small light surface scrape near the top center, both totaling less than 1 inch when combined.  There's a small amount of light surface wear, with the color artwork and that fire and brimstone still presenting very well.  The cover grades a strong and exceptionally nice VG+.

- The second item is a hardcover copy of the book titled Satan Is Real, The Ballad Of The Louvin Brothers.  It was written by Charlie Louvin with Benjamin Whitmer and was first published in 2012.  The copy we are offering here is a First Edition, and features a printed hardcover that's actually designed to look like it's got some wear around the edges.  The pages inside are clean and the book looks like it's had just a gentle read or two.

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.

With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an "overall presentation" grade; we do not give a "listening" grade. Our vinyl listings are supplemented when necessary with additional remarks. For example: where some dealers will not allow a cut corner on an otherwise near mint jacket (often automatically relegating it to a VG+ at best), we may grade such a record as NM and note the cut-out mark (thereby letting you know what it "really" looks like: a near-perfect record with a cut corner). LPs are graded cover first, followed by the grade for the vinyl.
