Led Zeppelin IV  Original 1971  UK Early Press
Matrix numbers: 2401012 A # 3 "PECKO DUCK" 2401012 B # 4 "PORKY"
Please check the pictures here to confirm the condition.
This has been stored now for 45+ years un-played, the vinyl looks great with the nice sheen and shine expected on a well cared for album - please check all the pictures here.
It appears hard to work out exactly what the so called "first pressing" was on this as it sold on release like the proverbial hot cakes and the pressing plants were working hard to keep up with the initial first orders and the initial sales demand on release. This is without doubt an early pressing - plum ATLANTIC label and the legendary PORKY etchings on the runouts.
No cover here, just the album as pictured, so it would be a great way to perhaps replace a damaged, scratched or played to death copy in a collection.
This rather special 12" vinyl LP will be well packed to protect while in transit, very stiff card will be used and it will not just be popped into an LP mailing envelope - the packing will weigh more than the album.
If you have any questions please just ask.
Thanks for looking.

I received a question on this (see below) asking if it the vinyl is "un-played" as it perhaps is not clear from the description. I thought it is clear that it has been played but not since the mid 1970s so for a few years it will have been played but the person who owned this before me really looked after his vinyl. Since then it has been stored correctly, vertically without undue pressure not exposed to light or high heat. The vinyl is now over 50 years old, unplayed for the last 45 of them. See below and hope all is clear. Thanks again for looking. Cheers ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ QUESTION.... Hello -- does your "stored for 45+ years un-played" text mean that this album is Actually Unplayed or that it merely hasn't been played for 45+ years (given that this album is actually 52 years old, thus may have been played for 7 years prior to this)? This is a quite a big difference. thanks, +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ REPLY.... Hi, As listed, un-played for 45 years though it has been played. To the best of my knowledge it was purchase "new" in 1972, apparently a few months after release. It comes from a person who knew how to look after vinyl - poly lined inner sleeves for every record if it did not come with one. The turntable was pretty high-end with the stylus changed regularly. This is a played copy that looks very fresh. When it was passed on around 1980 I was told that it was last listened to in the mid '70s so about 45 years un-played, I have not played it since I got it and my turntable is now long gone. I have put the (November?) 1971 release date in the listing as it is now over 50 years old but it has remained stored un-played since the mid '70s. I have had this since 1980 and it has been stored properly - vertically without undue pressure not exposed to light or high heat. So basically this is a played copy but not for many years now. Hope this helps and anything else just ask. Regards, John
