This is a rare original 1960 first pressing copy of the Soul Junction LP by The Red Garland Quintet, featuring John Coltrane and Donald Byrd, on Prestige PRLP-7181. Rudy Van Gelder's initials in the runoff, and New Jersey address. This copy has a few scuffs and light marks but it plays quite beautifully. The marks are mostly superficial scuffs, nothing deep or badly damaging. Side one plays basically flawlessly, with barely the slightest tiny crackle between tracks. Really a beautiful listen. Side two has a touch of crackle here and there. The beginning is somewhat crackly for only a short time, and not even that bad. There is only light, light crackle to be heard in a couple of spots, and never very obtrusive. Really this copy sounds just beautiful. Definitely a keeper copy. The cover, as well, is just beautiful. Almost no issues at all to speak of except very slight discoloration on the back, and a very soft bend along the top left edge. No seam splits or even worn corners. This is an unbelievably beautiful cover. It is a truly beautiful original copy all around.
