The MIGHTY """HEADSTONE""" album is full of fuzz and extended guitar solos and most of the tracks are well constructed with lots of tempo changes and well played with super swirling Hammond, hard drumming, hard riffing and lots of guitar effects. The moving-running BASS lines are astounding !

HEADSTONE consisted of three Flynn brothers and a friend Torn Applegate who recorded this, their sole album at the Rome Recording Studios in Columbus Ohio in 1974.
Ohio was full of obscure hard rock bands in the 70s and many of their self-released albums have stood the test of time.
It is mind-boggling as to why this HEADSTONE album isn't (yet...) acknowledged as a HARD ROCK monster of legends ... both sides being dynamic ...consistent high quality throughout ... not psychedelic as been described - that said, there are certainly psych tinges in the HEADSTONE SOULFUL delivery, and by the way: all original tracks are giant-sized infectious growers in the best of early hard rock style.
Similar to early peak ZZ Top variety mixed with potentially hard rock radio classics like "Peace of Mind*" and "Springtime" with vocals that would compete for classic '70's radio play IF it weren't for the roughness of the production -- separating this album from well known pretenders of the era and in the same way as the famous Morgan album.
OK "Morgen" had a more psychedelic hue, more to do with the time gap of 1969 to this album’s 1974 but Headstone's far better raw energy and pounding commanding bass lines & drumming high up in the mix thrust the fuzz-guitar into the stratosphere ...
