Beatles Rubber Soul -1 / -1 LOUD Cut UK 1st Press Mono 1965.

This super copy of Rubber Soul  is a UK first pressing, the 'loud-cut', on the much sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.

The 'loud cut' first pressing is so called, as upon hearing the record, John Lennon asked for the pressing plates to be remastered as he felt it was too loud. Consequently, a very small amount ended up in circulation.

These early mixes only ever appeared in mono and are distinguished by the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1 in the deadwax.

Here we have a First pressing of the album in variation A. Where both sides feature the LOUD cut meaning this is a genuine first press. This is a very rare record especially in this condition.

Side one- XEX 579-1

Side two- XEX 580-1

The outer sleeve is original and in good condition especially for its age. There are no tears or rips or pen marks. There are a few creases in the laminate as seen in the photos. Both Garrod & Lofthouse and Ernest J Day made covers for this pressing. In this case it was made by Garrod & Lofthouse.

The inner sleeve (also original) and in fair condition for its age with no splits, tears or markings. It does have some browning towards the opening.

The Vinyl itself is in great condition and plays very well with no skipping or clicking during tracks and only light pops and clicks between tracks. You can listen to an actual recording of the record by following the links below.

All in all it's in great condition considering the record is 58 years old and it would make an amazing addition to any collector.
