Originally Savoy issued mainly jazz recordings; by the mid 1950's Lubinsky changed his focus towards releasing black gospel music, eventually becoming the pioneer of the longest running black gospel label in existence with both the number of releases and years in operation; gospel releases are still issued to date. I have come upon a small collection of Savoy gospel records produced in the 1960s from a radio DJ's estate, all of which are PROMO, and all of which are PRISTINE, NEAR MINT CONDITION, with no scratches seen on very clean vinyl. The jackets show some light edge and corner wear, a faint ring on a few of them, and a few "Sample Copy Not For Sale" stamps on the back covers.
This one is for Roberta Martin - The Unforgettable Voice of Roberta Martin, Savoy MG-14221, produced in 1969. See listing photos for more information.
