The Cordials 45
Eternal Love b/w The International Twist
Reveille 106 Label
Original pressing with matrix #s 45-RV-1006A/B delta 42307 from 1962
This group included member Bobby Boris Pickett.  Pickett is, of course, the man doing the Boris Karloff impression on the Halloween hit "Monster Mash." He moved to L.A. in 1961 following his discharge from the army, hoping to become an actor. He joined this Doo Wop group, and after perfecting his Karloff voice, co-wrote "Monster Mash" with Cordials member Leonard Capizzi to take advantage of the Mashed Potato dance craze. The Crypt-Kickers were comprised of Leon Russell, Johnny McCrae, Rickie Page, and producer Gary Paxton. Pickett had a few other minor chart singles, but he will forever be known for his one massive hit.
Both sides were produced by Gary S. Paxton, the brilliant composer, arranger and producer.  During his rock & roll period, Gary's sense of a record's commercial potential was often less acute than his promotional skills. For years drug and alcohol abuse were Gary's downfall. As an example, Paxton blew all the much-needed royalties from his two biggest hits, "Alley Oop" and "Monster Mash" on addictions. Besides those two famous songs, Gary Sanford Paxton produced Tommy Roe's high-charters "Sweet Pea" and "Hooray for Hazel," also "Cherish" and "Along Comes Mary" for The Association.
The Record is in VG to VG+ condition.
