Beautiful copy of the 1984 West German 5-LP boxed set of the famous Stan Getz bossa nova albums from the early to mid 1960s, on Verve 823-611-1. This set features the 1962 Jazz Samba album with Charlie Byrd, the 1962 Big Band Bossa Nova album, the 1963 second Jazz Samba album with Luis Bonfá, the all-time classic 1963 Getz/Gilberto album featuring João Gilberto and Astrud Gilberto, and the 1964 album with Laurindo Almeida. All produced by Crees Taylor and originally released on the same label, Verve. This set is just beautiful, with super high quality German pressings that sound incredible. All five discs are apparently barely played and are just about mint. The box is in excellent shape, but the lid has torn corners on all four, and the lower section has a small tear at the top center, but all the corners are intact. Aside from that it is shiny and clean and beautiful. The original foldout insert is also included, and tells the whole story of Getz’ bossa recordings at the time. This is a truly beautiful set, with perfect discs.
