Please see our our grading guide below. This will give you insight into each grade. We do not test records.
Mint (M):
A vinyl record graded as Mint is in pristine condition, just as it was when it left the factory. It shows no signs of wear, scratches, scuffs, or any other imperfections. The cover should also be in immaculate condition with no creases, bends, or ring wear.
Excellent - EX
The record shows light or minor signs of play and the playing surface will still retain it's glossy sheen. The signs of play will be less easy to spot. The cover, packaging and additional items may have very slight degree of wear, but not very noticeable. It will be clear that the previously owner of this record will have taken care of it and stored it properly. The record will not have been played much and the sleeve will have minimal signs of handling. Very Good Plus (VG+):Vinyl records graded as Very Good Plus show some signs of use but still deliver a superior listening experience. They may have light surface marks or hairline scratches that do not affect play substantially. The cover might display some wear and tear, but overall, it remains presentable.
Very Good (VG):A vinyl record graded as Very Good will have noticeable surface marks or scratches that might result in some background noise during playback. Despite these imperfections, the record still plays well. The cover may have more evident wear, including ring wear, creases, or seam splits.
Good (G):Records graded as Good may play with surface noise or distortion due to significant scratches and marks. The cover is likely to have substantial wear, and there may be possible seam splits or tears.
Poor (P) and Fair (F):Vinyl records graded as Poor or Fair may have severe damage, making them challenging to listen to.
As well as the grades above, I will note any individual fault, such as pen marks, stickers on the sleeve and so on. If we are unsure, we will always state the record as slightly lower in grade. For example, if we think a record is between Very Good and Good condition. We will always state Good.
