Suffice to say that these UK 1st presses appear quite regularly on eBay, and are not quite as "rare" as some people like to claim! What is very unusual to find, is a copy with the vinyl in exceptional condition like this copy. The only real signs of it being played are a handful of spindle marks to each label and 2 light non-feelable marks. One on the track "Money" and one on the track "Eclipse".
I will give a detailed description of each part, but please note, this is a visual assessment of everything apart from the DSOTM vinyl, which is FULLY play-graded.
The cover:                  Original and genuine blue tint to the cover. Very different to the black covers of later issues. Left hand side is sealed. Light colour loss due to shelf wear on top and bottom edges. Spine colour almost perfect. Some light feathering to lead edges. Slight bumps to leading edge corners resulting in colour loss. Nothing serious here, a very solid cover. There is some minimal creasing to the right hand bottom area, very hard to notice unless tilted into the light. Inner gatefold is about as clean as you could find. A small name is neatly printed on the inside cover, not on the front fortunately!.  Conservative grading is a healthy VG+. I would expect the winner to be pretty pleased with this cover and its grading.
Inner sleeve:                      Nice example of this delicate inner. Has the grey printed patent and made in Great Britain text. There is light damage to both side edges. One has a tiny nick that has exposed the fully intact lining. The opposite edge has a nick and a tear. Vinyl has been stored in an anti-static sleeve for a long time now, so no further damage will occur to the original inner. I grade the inner sleeve as a strong VG.
Posters:             Both posters are present. Both are in super condition with just the fold marks present. No pin holes. No blue tack. No splits, rips, tears or issues. I grade both posters as Ex.
Postcard/stickers:                              Both postcards are present. Both unused. No pin holes, sticky tape, blue tack. The only issues to both are a crease where they have inside the gatefold "hinge". Both cards have "Fasprint crack back permanent" on the reverse with 45 degree brown lines indicating where to peel of the backing. A great pair of cards. I grade these at VG+ at least only due to creasing.
The labels:                  The iconic solid blue prism labels are in good shape. There are a small number of spindle trails to both sides. No rips or stains. To be safe because of the spindle marks..... I grade the labels as VG+.
The vinyl:                Really the vinyl is the cream of this copy.  As a visual grading I would have to give an excellent. The only thing taking that grade down visually is a non-feelable light mark on the track "Money" and another at the end of side 1. The first has no effect on the sound quality whatsoever. The second causes a very soft tick, certainly not a click, at the end of the side. The vinyl surfaces have retained their original gleam and lustre. A really nice clean example visually.
The play grading makes good reading. Side one, with its quiet heartbeat start, begins really well and quietly. The side plays with great clarity through the first 3 tracks, no issues. The segue into "Time" is excellent. Really quiet. All good until the soft ticks mentioned on track 5. Side 1 grades excellent. Side two starts really well and no factory pressed skip. Track 2 has the slightest hint of background noise in quiet sections (I am being very picky here). Then the rest of the side plays superbly with a single "dust pop" during track 3. The play grading reveals no major issues. I grade as a solid Ex.
As a complete and original first UK pressing with the A2 and B2 matrix numbers, correct blue tinged cover, both posters and stickers, I really have to grade overall as excellent. Somebody is going to be very happy!!
I will post overseas, although I have had issues in the past and will not post to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. If you have a feedback score of less than 20, please contact me before bidding. I have listed the price for UK postage only. As a rough guide, postage within the EU is about £16, tracked and signed for. Outside of the EU, postage is around "25, tracked and signed for. I will refund any excess paid immediately once I have weighed the packaged items. I DO NOT make anything on the postage. I charge the exact cost (often less) that I pay. I DO NOT charge for packing materials and I try to use recycled packing anyway.  I also dress all my albums in a brand new heavyweight plastic cover and a brand new anti-static inner sleeve. All vinyl is packed outside of the cover and 2 stiffeners are used in transit. I have sold many valuable vinyls over the years and am often credited with Fort Knox style packing. Please bid with peace of mind that what you see is what you get.
If you have any questions, require extra photos (you can only upload 24 on here), please just ask. Album will be posted same day I receive the funds if early enough, or at worst the next day.
