In 1951, alto saxophonist Johnny Hodges took a break from his lifelong commitment to Duke Ellington to record several sessions of his own music, and it’s a delight. Mosaic issued them on 6 LPs, and this is a very fine copy of them. The records are pristine and box and booklet are in beautiful condition.
