Over the next few weeks and months I will be listing a quite lovely collection of Pink Floyd albums.
These will all be at least decent playing copies, but mostly will be of excellent quality, some even better than that. They will include some UK 1st pressings, and if not they will be extremely early pressings. All matrix/mother/stamper combinations will be listed (so long as they are readable!) so you can tell exactly what you are bidding on. All gradings are by visual examination and by play-grading, strictly to record collector guidelines.
So here we have a fantastic copy of Pink Floyds iconic album from 1973. "Dark side of the moon". The matrices of A6 and B3 put this as a very early example.
The cover grades as excellent. Hardly any damage at all. Perhaps a slight rub to the top edge in the centre. Lovely jet black example.
The inner sleeve is almost excellent, although has discoloured a little with age. One side has a small slit, cut from the edge of the disc. This example has the patent number and made in England text in blue. Please note, the vinyl is now stored in a new anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl surfaces visually are nigh on pristine. Not a mark worthy of mention. The labels only show a couple of spindle marks per side. This has had very little play.
The sound quality has been fully play-graded, strictly to record collector guidelines. Side one starts with the notorious heartbeat intro. So often this is plagued by surface noise. This one handles it beautifully. My only comments during side one were the presence of 2 "dust pops" right at the end of track three. Side two plays without fault the whole way. In my play-grading book I have written " pretty much a perfect album. Almost completely silent throughout". My play-grade for the entire album is the highest I ever give to a non-sealed album. That is excellent plus (Ex+).
The 2 posters are in almost perfect condition. No issues. The 2 stickers have both, at some stage, been caught in the gatefold cover hinge, as so many did. This has caused a little creasing, but otherwise these are in a nice unused condition.
In the sale I have included a couple of extra items. Firstly, a brand new and unused coaster, depicting the prism artwork from the album cover (shown in photos). Finally, some Royal Mail artwork of the album cover and the live stage set on tour. Both of these are mint and unused.
To find an early pressing of this iconic album in this condition is extremely unusual. It has the huge bonus of having the B3 matrices for side 2, recognised within the record industry as about the best pressing made. This album sounds as it did when it left the record store. IT IS THAT GOOD.
All albums will be housed in a brand new heavy duty polythene cover. All vinyl's will be housed in a new anti-static inner sleeve. I pack my albums for transit in the most secure packaging imaginable and send next day delivery postage with The Royal Mail. I only charge exactly what it costs me, sometimes less!
I accept returns if I am notified as soon as possible after you receive the album. This has to be due to it being wrongly described. Not just for a change of mind. I take the time to provide quality photographs of the album, along with a detailed description, so please respect this.
I will post overseas, but not to Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. Postage within the EU is around £17. Worldwide postage is around £26. If these prices differ once I have packed and weighed them, I will refund the difference immediately.
If you have any questions, or require more photos, just let me know.
Many excellent Floyd titles still to be listed (over 100), so please keep an eye out for my future sales. Maybe add me as a favourite seller for my latest listings.
Good luck if you decide to bid.
