This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lou Donaldson “Wailing with Lou” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1545. The flat rim playing surface of Side 1 has two light inaudible scuffs and will play very close to new; Side 2 has a few inaudible scuffs and a hairline that produces eight-to-ten tics on the first track and four random tics on the second track; the music is clear and crisp throughout. The coated reverse-frame West 63rd cover has light age toning at the top and bottom of the back slick; light rubbing on the top seam; moderate rubbing (no splits) along the spine and bottom seam; ¼” wear on the bottom seam, at the opening; ¼” scratch on the front, near the top of the spine; superficial wear along the opening on the front. Personnel include Donald Byrd, Herman Foster, Peck Morrison, and Art Taylor. $500.00.
