Goodnight Irene / My Blue Heaven
on Columbia 7-inch vinyl
33-1/3 rpm microgroove ZLP
Columbia 1-718
Issued in July, 1950
This 7” single/mono 33-1/3 RPM format was relatively short-lived for Columbia.
The same Sinatra recording was one of Columbia’s first 7” vinyl 45 RPM releases, announced on August 12, 1950 in Billboard magazine.
ZLP 3247 Frank Sinatra w Mitch Miller Orch/ Goodnight Irene.
(Ledbetter, Lomax)
ZLP 2737 Frank Sinatra w George Siravo Orch/ My Blue Heaven.
(G. Whiting, Donaldson)
The disc features a ‘rumble strip’ for better traction.
Genre: Jazz, Pop
Style: Vocal, Easy Listening
This vintage record plays without any skips, but with typical surface noise and light ‘pops’.
The record would benefit from a cleaning (I’ll leave that up to the new owner).
The paper sleeve is not the original.
