The Canadian trumpeter Sam Noto and flutist Sam Most make for a surprisingly effective blend during this enjoyable straightahead date. Noto contributed all six selections and they cover a variety of tempos and grooves in the bebop tradition. With a rhythm section of pianist Dolo Coker, bassist Monty Budwigand drummer Frank Butler, the music can be guaranteed to always swing.
