PINK FLOYD - " THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON ", Harvest/EMI (SHVL 804) 1973.

Ultra rare, UK original1st pressing LP of the classic Pink Floyd album.

Includes all the relevant 1st press attributes - solid blue triangle on the label, Gatefold sleevle, 2 stickers, 2 posters, black inner sleeve, etc.

Matrix numbers = SHVL 804 A-2 / SHVL 804 B-2

"Thick, heavyweight vinyl regarded as the 'finest' and most true encapsulation of this historical recording was used for the first pressings - they were pressed direct from the original masterplate. As a result of them coming straight from the masters, nothing even gets close to them today. They play with a deep clear warmth and the sound has to be heard to be believed! The detail and clarity is nothing short of stunning"

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo).

99p start price.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  V.G.+  (No deep scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, only the lightest spindle trails, etc. Under a bright grading lamp I can make out some light, hairline marks on the vinyl, but none of them deep and there are no other signs of serious abuse or overplaying.
On playback there is a bit of sporadic faint surface noise during silences and quiet sections and occasional faint crackle and click as the record plays through. The few slight audible flaws this record does have are definitely not severe enough to ruin the whole listening experience and generally the record plays strongly and doesn't suffer this hideous distortion I've heard on some copies of this LP. Personally, I'd much rather take this original LP over any later inferior pressings and horrible sterile CDs. Plus it will obviously go for a bit less than mint copies so coule be a great affordable xample for someone out there.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = EX- (No rips, tears, defacing, etc. But it does suffer a couple of light creases and the usual wear around the edges and corners - see photos for further clarification)

EXTRAS = Both posters have a few light handling thumb creases but are otherwise in very good shape. The inner carries wear but no proper damage and the stickers have a couple of light creases on the corners but that is all - see photos for more info.

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.
