[zipedit] Rolling Stones 'Out Of Our Heads'
1st UK Pressing Cat No. LK.4733 ((Mono)) Unboxed Decca Labels!
Near Mint Vinyl! Near Mint Audio! Looks and Sounds Barely Ever Played!
Rarer 1st Issue Clout & Baker Laminated front Cover!
An Archive Copy Final Upgrade!

Another from my personal collection! Original 1965 1st UK Mono pressing of Out Of Our Heads. Again for the best possible audio quality on the planet the earliest stampers make all the difference.  This vinyl looks and sounds like it has only ever had a handful of plays ever! Just try to find another copy like this! The vinyl's playing surface is very near mint almost like new, but I can just see two minute scuff mark dots on side one, No needle Scratches, unbelievably rare for a 50 year old Rolling Stones record like this! For me the most important aspect of collecting vinyl is the audio quality. I played this four times at very loud volume on a top system, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge prior to this listing. The audio is almost like a new vinyl in my opinion. It is clear and vibrant through out ! No Clicks, ticks or pops heard, just four very light scuff noise heard on the outro to the last track side one that's all! absolutely beautiful throughout! Audio graded as near as Very, very near Mint throughout! This is complete with the original Decca poly lined record sleeve and 1st issue Clout & Baker laminated front only cover!
This copy is for audiophiles out there a final upgrade in my opinion.

Listen to the complete album in the player below. Actual recording from this vinyl listed!

Out of Our Heads is the Rolling Stones' third British album and their fourth in the United States. It was released in 1965 through London Records in the US on 30 July 1965, and Decca Records in the UK on 24 September 1965 (in both mono – catalogue number LL3429; and in stereo—PS429), with significant track listing differences between territories.

Most of Out of Our Heads comprises rhythm and blues cover songs. According to music critic Richie Unterberger, the album's US release largely had soul covers and its "classic rock singles", including "The Last Time", "Play with Fire", and "Satisfaction", still drew on the band's R&B and blues roots, but were updated to "a more guitar-based, thoroughly contemporary context.

" Kent H. Benjamin of The Austin Chronicle wrote that the album was "the culmination of the Stones' early soul/R&B sound" In his review of the album's UK edition, Allmusic's Bruce Eder characterised it as rock and roll and R&B.

The British Out of Our Heads – with a different cover – added songs that would surface later in the US on December's Children (And Everybody's) and others that had not been released in the UK thus far (such as "Heart of Stone") instead of the already-released live track and recent hit singles (as singles rarely featured on albums in the UK in those times).

Issued later that September, Out of Our Heads reached No. 2 in the UK charts behind the Beatles' Help!. It was The Rolling Stones' last UK album to rely upon R&B covers; the forthcoming Aftermath was entirely composed by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

 THE VINYL

This original 50 year old vinyl, on initial inspection of the playing surface looks superb and lays perfectly flat on the turntable. This is free of any warping. Even in strong light I find it hard to even see a blemish on the playing surface at least no real scratches to mention,,  No marks that would cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio that I heard! Any marks that there could possibly be would be light whispy sleeve removal only, Please note, on close scrutiny,I can see just two minute scuff type marks/dots right at the end of side one which causes very little interference only in the form of very light scuffs noise at the outro to the last track side one.!  (Please note this is the original thick , heavy and chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings almost looks like a new vinyl. Unbelievably rare like this!) The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping! Quite unbelievable to find on a Rolling Stones record after 50 years!

 The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl four  times prior to listing, at very loud volume on a top system,, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! This 50 year old vinyl plays through almost as a new vinyl would in my opinion! One of the best sounding copies that I have ever heard of this variation, all hand claps were prominent and a controlled audio feel only heard like this on these matrix variations! The audio is absolutely beautiful, crystal clear and very vibrant with that deep bassey feel , only found like this on these earliest originals! I heard (no) loud clicks or pops and amazingly no real surface or background static during the audio and importantly no distortion or signs that this has been overplayed at all! There are Certainly no skips or jumps! Even in between tracks this is lovely, quite unbelievable to find like this after 50 years!  ,, without the usual background surface noise that is so often heard on these early pressings. Point to note! I heard some very light scuff noise at the outro to the last track side one to mention but probably not even noticed if played on some systems at normal lower volume. at least nothing that spoilt the overall enjoyment at all in my opinion.  I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near mint throughout!

An audiophile Audio archive copy never need to upgrade in my opinion!

hear for your self in the player above, actual recording from the vinyl!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd isolated static/tick/scuff noise, but nothing consistent  through out the audio! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 50 years old and would have been played on a system that is 50 years old! Audio like new in my opinion.

Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle. A constant clean before each play is recommended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality. Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality.

THE LABELS

This is the original Decca grooved Unboxed  Decca labels!  A truly unique scarce copy in lovely condition,  ''MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN''.! (UK PRESS ONLY)!

There is little if (no) spindle ware (the hole is perfectly round) see photo.  Amazingly No spider marks can be see on side 1. and barely two feint spider marks on side two labels, so rare to find like this!    (this has obviously barely been played no more than a handful of times and certainly not overplayed in my opinion!

THE RECORD SLEEVE

This is the original Decca ,poly lined record sleeve (Correct for this pressing) Becoming fragile at the edges light creasing/staining with age only.  Nice and bright condition.  Please note, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL! The vinyl is always stored separately from the vinyl for protection. This is how I always store my records.

THE COVER

The original   RARER & HARDER TO FIND 1st UK PRESS  CLOUT & BAKER Printed. super glossy laminated front only of the cover! There is no edge splits or tares!  Amazingly there is no real main or nasty laminate creases to mention just very minor  thumbs type creases in the laminate only to mention and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion  very minor edge crease lines very few. There is a slight very small defect front bottom edge protruding to the rear bottom edge, but again you would have to look for it to notice in my opinion.   (very very rare to find (any light creases or indents are very minor indeed to mention on the front laminate and no real  rubbing to mention. Very light vinyl impression only noticed angled to the light but for the last 40 years this has been stored separate from the record. The rear is exceptionally clean creases are not really noticed unless looked for in my opinion and are feint.  in general this is way above average and lovely and clean throughout. The pinched end spine is near as perfect all text can be read clearly.       This cover must grade at least excellent to excellent plus, in my opinion. Try to find a better cover, impossible like this!
